Here are some of our most frequently asked questions...
Q: What special gear does my child need to participate in PAYSC events?
A: Participants should have soccer cleats, shinguards, soccer socks and an appropriately-sized soccer ball. We also recommend that participants bring water to all events. Baseball or softball cleats are not allowed due to safety concerns.
Q: What size soccer ball does my child need?
A: PAYSC follows the ball-size guidelines set by US Youth Soccer:
- U5-U8: size 3 ball
- U9-U12: size 4 ball
- U13-U19 (and adult): size 5 ball
Using the correct ball size and weight is important for the safety of your child.
Q: Is registration still open?
A: Currently open registrations are listed on our "Registration" page - see menu link on the left side of this screen. To inquire about registration for a closed or future event, please contact our registrar at [email protected]
Q: Can my child be placed on a team with a certain coach and/or teammates?
A: There is an area on our registration form where you may request a specific coach and/or teammates for your child. Although we cannot make any guarantees, we will do our best to honor these requests when making teams.
Q: What if I cannot afford the registration fees for my child(ren)?
A: We believe that no child should miss the chance to play youth soccer due to financial hardship. We have scholarships available for most of our events - typically beginning with one half of the registration fee. Please submit inquiries or requests in writing (email) to [email protected]
